Palca Canyon is just an hour from La Paz but feels a world away. A narrow slot canyon with towering red cliffs, this day-hike affords incredible views of La Paz to the north and Illimani to the south, a look at traditional agricultural systems that provide La Paz with much of its produce and the chance of seeing a majestic Andean Condor. The Palca Canyon day-hike is also a great way to get out of the city for a while and acclimatize to the altitude.
