Tiwanaku-Titicaca Full-day

Program Description

Ready for the two thousand year old Tiwanaku archeological ruins and sacred Lake Titicaca? On the same day?!? On our special combo expedition, we head out of La Paz at 7:30am en route to Huatajata, a small farming village on the shore of Titicaca where we’ll visit the Titi Ethnographic Museum, focused on the past and present cultures living around the lake and with a special emphasis on totora reed boat-building. When we are through at the museum we’ll then take a spin on a boat made from totora reeds before having lunch (not included on the price) in town. After lunch we set off for Tiwanaku to visit the UNESCO-recognized archaeological site and museum before returning to La Paz, arriving at about 6:00pm. The Tiwanaku culture was tightly linked to Lake Titicaca and this fascinating tour blends the past with the present and makes for a wonderful excursion through time and across landscapes.
