Just 45 minutes from downtown La Paz, this day hike seems a world away. The trail begins at the base of one of the city’s most notable landmarks, the Devil’s Molar, a rust-colored craggy rock formation considered to be a volcanic plug located high above the Zona Sur. From la “Muela del Diablo” we descend, slowly and on a maintained footpath, all the down to the La Paz River and up the other side to Colibri Camping, camping (and glamping!) site in the mural-covered village of Jupapina. During the hike expect spectacular views, native flora, and fauna, once across the river, an epic finish at Colibri Camping, perched on a cliff-top overlooking the valley and where we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch and if you want, a soak in the hot tub!
