La Paz is marvelous, there is no doubt, and on our La Paz Urban Trek Full-day you will find out why. A crossroads between the highlands and the lowlands for millenia, the same can be said today of this culturally diverse and dynamic metropolis and “second” capital of Bolivia. On our three-day tour of La Paz City and the surrounding moonscape valleys, you’ll learn all about the ecology, history, gastronomy, arts, music, culture and more of this fascinating place. We’ll spend the first day “trekking” around the city and exploring markets and neighborhoods, riding the amazing cable cars, and samling typical foods. The second day takes us to Hampaturi Valley, a nearby rural valley where we will stretch our legs and do some hiking and view-taking-in while we learn about the farming communities that have fed La Paz (and beyond) for centuries. We return to La Paz in the afternoon and the next morning we take you to visit a few of the city’s key museums and do some more . . . culinary research! You’ll have to agree with us by the time we are through, La Paz is truly marvelous!
