Starting and finishing in the dusty town of Uyuni, this classic full-day expedition to the Uyuni Salt Flats includes a visit to the Train Cemetery, a stop at Colchani, a settlement on the salar where salt is harvested and processed before being prepared for consumption throughout the Andes and a lunch stop and hike at Isla Incahuasi (also known as Fish Island, due to its shape), a striking rocky island that rises straight out of the salar and is covered with enormous cactus. Don’t forget your sense of wonder and amazement – and your sunblock and sunglasses!
